Shooting Fish are wholly committed to educational programmes and are continuously developing a significant portfolio of courses that complement the school curricula. Learning through play has been proven as a tremendously effective method of engaging young people. The company have worked at Primary level using drama as of way of learning about all areas of the curriculum such as science or history, as well as at secondary and FE level for whom they have developed many workshops based on Shakespeare’s texts from making them accessible to detailed work on set scenes.
Aside from learning through play Shooting Fish also concentrate on personal development - working alongside young people with behavioural difficulties to build their interpersonal skills (team building, communication, leadership etc.) and also with teachers, training them in ways to help with engaging young people and using drama as a forum for discussion about conflict and teaching methods.
